Episode 69: The One Where Blue Oud Got Shot, Cut & Launched in 24 Hours
Description:
Three months of customers demanding Blue Oud… the second it landed, the Scents Emporio team dropped everything. No sleep, no second chances — 24 hours to concept, shoot, edit, and launch.
Creative Director Saud ran this entire thing like a war mission. Camera in one hand, vision in the other. Sony A7IV shooting 4K/24fps. Switched between the 85mm f/1.4 for razor sharp drama and the 35mm f/1.4 for cinematic movement. Every shot handheld, gun-and-run style, like the lens was an extension of his arm.
Lighting? Experimental — even blasted a last minute backlight to push the subject out of the frame. Didn’t make the final cut (too distracting), but that’s the level of chaos he throws into testing. Audio was captured on a pro rig wireless Mics, then cleaned and sharpened until it hit like a studio record.
Color grading? Custom, not copy paste LUTs. Layered tones to balance mood and storytelling. Narrative wasn’t scripted; it was built on set, in real time, to give the reel that raw unveiling energy.
Three hours of relentless shooting. Three hours of non stop editing. One man behind the camera. One product the audience has been begging for.
This is how Blue Oud was born on screen.
